here soon meaning there name will no longer be associated with the HW line of guns anymore here in the future. If you had the chance to keep some of them NIB would you do so or would or would you use the rifle and just emjoy it?

If the Beemam/HW connection goes away that might be too bad, but HW will still be available. Right? R1s are stratospheric now. The no-more-Beeman tag will certainly brew the prices up.

The guns were made to shoot why resign a perfectly good airgun to be a Closet Queen? I doubt the makers would frown on you for using and appreciating a beautifull Beeman gun, just be carefull as pratical with the wood work and it will serve you well. The appreciation of the gun will definatelly be, it will be yours!
I went through the same delemma with a Remington .22RF prototype. It showed signr of use and for months I held it and just looked at it. The realization that it was made to use overpowered me and truthfully the rifle has acounted for hundreds of pesky Ground Squirrel!
If our forfathers would have decided to "Save" their Squirrel Rifles we might have a Queen still...
I say shoot these wonderfull rifles like they were intend to be.

It's quite simple, really.
If you are an investor and have a chance to see a considerable increase in value for your Beeman, then you might just want to leave it hermetically sealed for that future wealthy buyer.
Otherwise, shoot to your heart's content.
Weihrauch is going to be around for some time to come.

Know one knows for sure what Beemans future is at this point here, HW could pull the plug anytime they want with good reason, yes their are alot of rumors about Beemans future, I merely asked a question and I think some of you took it out of what I ment, and yes I saw the other posts on the yellow about this the other day and I know what has been said awhile back about Beeman changing hands and soforth, and as stated from others on the yellow who are more informed than I about this if it was read correctly you would understand why I asked the question I did about would you keep your rifle in mint state or use it? I didn't say anything about Beeman going belly up. I knew when I posted what I did that Beeman had a few yrs left with contract with HW, that doesn't mean HW will renew this contract. I was looking at it from a collector stand point nothing more!

R1's are not going up in price that much. I've seen a couple of nicely used, early guns for reasonable (if not very good) prices this week. It's hard to say what guns will increase in value. Used to be a cherry FWB124D commanded a hefty premium. Now they seem to be coming out of the woodwork for hundreds less. Ditto Diana 75's. So, who's to say what will be the next collectible? And Beeman's are graded by addresses, or when they were sold. The older, the better, especially with the R1's. Much more nicely finished, IMHO.
So, you can maybe test the waters by listing one for a higher-than-new price to see if you get a buyer. If not, you can then shoot them without hurting the resale value too much. FWIW, guns make poor investments. They take up a lot of space and most don't appreciate as much as common stock.

It would be a real shame if ever Beemans ceased HW's after all the development behind the Dr's hard work, I've really enjoyed all the Beemans catalogues and the very first Airgun Digest by Beeman 1978 they are collectibles in themselves, I still enjoy picking up a 1980's edition and flicking through the pages, I reckon some of the special edition models a highly valuable such as the RI Tyrolean's and 55's etc with the Beeman stamp on them.

An R1 Tyrolean will comman a heft premium. I missed what I think might have been one by about a day (was on sale in a shop). If it wasn't a special order gun, then it had the best aftermarket stock I've ever seen - true XXX. Just be aware that, no matter how "special", they aren't going to command the same as an equivalent firearm. Just how the air gun market works.
