Small Regulators for Tethering?
«

I am working on a new project where I want to tether to my Great White at a regulated pressure of 3800 psi.... If possible, I don't want to spend the money on an adjustable regulator.... I have a 2900 psi setup now, based on a Ninja 4500 psi regulator, that works perfectly.... Is there something similar I can get for 3800 psi output?.... or will a Ninja stand that output pressure and be stable?.... Anyone with experience doing what I want to do?....

I recently acquired 2 900 psi output ninja bottles. The fellow I got them from had used them in a drag racing application, they helped push his nitrous. The reason he sold them, he needed a higher constant psi to feed the nitrous system. I believe he uses a 4500 psi ninja bottles now. That's 4500, non regulated. Maybe Ninja has a static reg that could be set at 3800psi?
Maybe just call up Ninja and see n if they offer anything for your application?

Chip Smith has a really nice external regulator he uses for testing. I can't remember the name of it, but I will ask him and let you know.....if he doesn't see this and respond.

I recommend Huub too. His regulator has 3 setting scales based on spring washers order and it would be possible to go slightly beyond highest range by adding a thin flat washer into the stock. But maybe it would be the best option to email him and ask.

I wasn't aware of his external tethering reg.
I buy a lot of internal regs from him.....and I'm quite happy with him, his products, and his service.

Doug is looking for a similar device. He d not have good luck with a lower output pressure in the EBR build. Contact him perhaps?
cheers,

Did any one find something like what Bob was asking for? I see the Huub is no longer on his website.

I looked at modifying the Ninja, and Doug managed to get his up to about 3800 psi, but that appears to be the limit using 0.047" Bellevilles.... He did get it working perfectly in the 3000-3400 psi range following my suggestions.... I may end up building my own to get one I can use at up to 4000 psi....

I think I'm going to get a Jubilee valve for my Ninja tank. I'll use the reg in the manifold I build when I want to tether. I'm happy with 3000psi but can't afford 5k disk blowing all the time because they don't like shoebox compressors.
