And accuracy falls off, when it's put in backward. Just a little tip.
make sure that your mag selector lever is in the right position. put the mag in, push the selector lever up and forward then manually spin the mag one pellet clockwise and the lever will fall into position. after this the mag will cycle with every new pellet lever pull. hope this helps if it still does not work then there is a real issue.

I learned this fact the hard way. I got in my first Crickets and kind of freaked, thinking the magazine feed wasn't working. I finally figured out the switch had 3 positions, 1) Loading position; and after the mag was insterted I could choose 2) no-indexing, and 3) indexing.Funny thing was I brought up this point to another Cricket dealer, and he was totally unaware of this fact.
