Crosman 100 New Sights With Bling

As some of you know a couple of weeks ago my wife found an ad in the local shopper for a late 1940's Crosman 100 for $50.00. She went on her own and meet the original owner (he got it when he was 15). Made the deal and gave it to me for an anniversary present.

The owner had the paper work were it was sent off to an authorized Crosman Repair Shop and resealed etc. He also bought another rear peep sight and was charge $27.00 for it. Don't know if that was a new price or used but high no matter which way.

The original sights are pretty crude and super hard to adjust as you had to loosen tiny screws for both adjustments.  So I though why not make some nice sights and what would be nicer than all out of brass. On my new ones I just loosen knurled knobs.

So hear are a couple of photos of the new sights & the old sights. I will tell you one thing, I can go up against most people with modern scoped air rifles out to 20 yds. This thing will drive tacks, if I can see it, it will hit it.

It always amazes me when things made 50-100 years ago, with simple machines and a lot of hand labor, are capable of performance equal to or better than the stuff made today with all the technology we now have. ( Of course with the exception of your new peep sight!)

The entire sight, every piece was made by me on my lathe and mill using brass flat & bar stock.

If your looking for an aperture to be made then let me know. Maybe I can make one for you.
