TX 200 question.

Just a quick question for some tx200 owners.I was cleaning my air gun today and noticed a threaded hole towards the muzzle between the cocking arm and the barrel.I blew some air through the barrel and air freely passes through the hole.Is there supposed to be a screw or something plugging the hole? I was cleaning the gun due to my groups suddenly opening up and don't know if the open hole has anything to due with it.Thanks.

Rubber bumper in the hole from factory.  many go missing and get replaced by adding 2 o-rings within grooves on end of cocking handle.

The open hole won't affect the accuracy at all will it ?

I found an Allen head screw that fit the hole, ground the end down so it didn't protrude into the barrel and topped it with a rubber door buffer that is used on cabinet doors to keep them from slamming shut.  It looks a bit like a half dome.

Super glued it in place and it has been fine ever since.

If you have a cocking handle from Rowan, or AA then you can do it like this.  Danco #9 in each of the grooves, and a Danco #31 in between them.

My rubber bumper broke off but I use #8 or #9 orings as others suggest.  What you are saying though is that the hole for the rubber bumper continues into the barrel? I will have to look at mine and see if it does the same thing.  If it is a hole you should be able to see light thru it.  I can't imagine they would drill a hole so deep to install a rubber bumper that doesn't work and everyone hates.  Not saying it couldn't happen.  Just seems weird.

Another though occurred to me.  This is only a guess and I'm throwing stuff out.  The TX 200 did not always have a shrouded barrel.  If the hole goes through the shroud ind into the barrel, could it be the rubber cocking arm bumper goes into the outside of the hole and the barrel relieves pressure into the shroud through the hole in the barrel?  This may tend to quiet the gun a bit.

Again, I don't know - it's just a thought.

I need to measure my TX200 to be sure but I believe the barrel stops short of the hole for the rubber bumper. The TX200 only has a 9" barrel. So you feel air coming out because the shroud is trapping air and that hole goes into one of the chambers in the shroud. I dont know if it has actual baffles but I can see what looks like baffles/cups in the end of my shroud.
