I have a question for the S510 owners, have any of you filled an empty S510 with a handpump. I have no access to a tank so if it is not possible I will have to look for another gun. Thanks, Robert.

From empty is no problem, tho due to slight weepage poppet valves have initially until pressure is sufficient to get seal leak free could be an issue. Each gun is different tho.

Cock the rifle first then the first few pumps need to be fast with no pauses that should work with my Marauder I had to do about 10 or 15 fast strokes with the hand pump before the valve sealed completely and the hiss stopped . the S510 should be the same

Thank you very much , it is nice to know it can be done. The S510 is hopefully going to be my next air rifle, my first pcp. My brother has a Marauder, was no problem with handpump, the pump even had a bad seal, the Marauder did have some air in it when it arrived. Do all pcp's ship with air in them?

I have a Hatsan AT44-10, and I was very surprised when it arrived. It was fully pressurized, I later bought a spare air tube, it came fully pressurized as well. And yes I fill with a Hill 3 hand bump.

You should be able to pump up the S510 with it cocked and empty but when I bought mine from Pyramid Air it had over 1,000 psi in it.

Thanks again for your replies, I will keep all your suggestions in mind if I finally make up my mind and buy the rifle.
