White plug in the back of the AT44 valve

How do I get it out?  I recently tapped the 5 holes and JB welded them in place, and in so doing, I suspect I got some grit in my valve, which is holding it open.  I have tried a few times to pump some air in, and when I do, it just leaks out the hole in the valve.  I  tried shooting some silicone spray in there to rinse anything loose, but to no avail.  So, I want to take it apart and give everything a good cleaning, and see if this fixes the problem.  But to do that, I need to get that white plug out.  I am sure someone on here must have done it before - any ideas?

Its quite difficult, you need to make 2 cuts in the sides of the white plug and with 2 flat head screw drivers push the white plug out, the same exact situation happened in my at44 valve

or place a suitable size tap into the hole threading it, put in screw and pull

Or just use a suitably butch pair of pliars. Grip, twist and pull slowly. It won't be as difficult the next time that you need to do it.

Okay, Motorhead wins this round - his idea got the plug out.  Now for the valve stem. It only slides part way, then stops when it is flush with the front face of the valve.  Should I just use a thin punch and tap it out, or is the something else I should do?

Won't the threads cause air turbulence? If not then it is a really good idea...

It is because the grub screws are getting in the way...

After you get the white spring holder out, the next big challenge will be valve seat, don't use anything that can scratch the valve. It's possible to use end of a drill bit ( by hand) and work it out. Not the cutting end.
Maybe others will chime in, I have bad luck with valve seat.

Push stem with a pin punch, it will come right out ( Unless grub screws from radial port plugging are there )
