M-rod is apart - Cleaning Advice? VERY Dirty!

Okay, so I bought a Marauder on Craigslist. Price was too good to pass up, even if it needed work. I shot it before buying it, and it didn't seem to have accuracy issues. After letting it sit, it leaks...BAD...like, empty in an hour.
So I opened it up and the internals are VERY dirty and corroded. See the pictures:
So there are plenty of blogs and posts about cleaning, but this seems a little more drastic than anything I have seen. I am looking for advice to safely remove the corrosion from the internals and get it ready for all new o-rings.
The previous owner, though he said he did no mods, installed a rolled up piece of whatever as a de-pinger, and obviously used ALOT of lube and let a lot of dirt into the air tube. So is there a way to degrease the air tube to remove both the dirt and the grease?
Any direction would be helpful, I'm pretty new to the "cleaning" side of this and would hate to use something that destroys the metal and makes things worse.

My experience with high pressure parts is that once they become pitted due to corrosion or dirt or other wear, safety demands they be replaced. Of course, most of my high pressure experience is with subsea electrical connectors for military and oil industry use. Once corrosion sets in and the surface of the sealing faces are damaged, 9 times out of 10, replacement of the damaged parts is the best remedy. Just my opinion. Maybe some one with better high pressure air experience might have other advice.

As for cleaning inside the tube I just push a bunch of rags through, then spray some WD-40 followed by more rags, till clean and dry.
When my gauge port looked like your fill assy the pressure tube was corroded also at the gauge port. After cleaning everything up it still leaked, honed tube at port- still leaked. Bought a new PTube and GPort (about $70), holds air forever now. Pump the driest air you can to prevent it.
If you do have to go that route and get a new tube, I will pay postage for your old one instead of trashing it. I want it to practice milling holes in it.

Well, I found the leak. It actually wasn't any of the o-rings. After replacing them, there was still a pronounced his coming from the transfer port. So I cleaned out the poppet and smoothed everything up. Holding air now.
I realize the corrosion is an issue, but it wasn't actually as bad as the pictures looked. Most of that was "gunk" from the lube that guy used. I'm still going to tell my which that I need all new internals though...haha...
