First gen had .22 barrel accuracy problems. Not sure the cost to remedy that.
I thought of buying it but just bought a sailboat and all my money is going to that.
You did great! And you got to try it out for accuracy before you bought too. It sounds like you got a good one (at least it likes the pellets you tried). You should be able to tune to get the noise level down. I bet the power is up pretty high and you might be wasting air too.Marauders (especially with wood stock) tend to be a little heavy - certainly compared to a Disco, but you get a magazine, shroud, and a nice trigger - which you can adjust to your liking. You might want to check if it still has the lawyer spring on the trigger. Removing that is usually the first thing to modify on any M-rod rifle.Ray
TJC,I'm out on vacation for 2 weeks starting today. But If you need any help with the mrod let me know. I know a couple of things to make it quieter. Also, The power might just be cranked up. Also, look up HillGSA mrod 22 tune guide, he does a great job writting up the how to's and he uses the same procedure I use which I find to me the quickest way tune the mrods. Hope this helps. Also look at my signature and ready the mods to the my shroud on the mrod .25. Very easy to make and they help alot.
Do you have something (LDC, moderator, etc) aftermarket on your Disco to quiet it? if not I would think there is no WAY the m-rod would be louder than the Disco unless all the baffle cones have been removed or something. And even then...
