16x scope question

I have a hawke airmax 30 SF 4-16x. I know that it's true mil spacing is on 12x. My question is, if you wanted to range on 16x, how do you calculate that meaning how do/would you range with the scope being on 16x instead of turning down to 12x?

I use MOA scopes, but the math would work in the same fashion. Do your same ranging formula, then just multiply the result  by 12/16, or 3/4, or .75.

According to the Hawke website, your scope's AMX IR reticle has the MilDots calibrated at 10X, which is the norm.... If you input 16X for the indicated magnification, and 10X for the calibrated magnification, the chart in ChairGun should be correct for your setup....

Ok it's a true mildot spacing of 3.6" @ 100yds on 10x. So what is the math formula to range with it at 16x?

The MilDot spacing should be 10/16 x 3.6" = 2.25" per MilDot at 100 yds….
