hw 50s

Ordered a hw 50s My arms are sore from my mag springers. I like to shoot a lot. I like my hw 30 but I want a little more pesting power. I am hoping for a little relief, to shoot 100 or so rounds in a setting.  Will I get an easy cocking effort, and do jsb 8.44 do well in this gun.  thanks  Den

I think you made a great choice for an all-rounder of a quality springer.  My HW50 fills the niche of an accurate plinker/pester with a little more power than my Beeman R7.  Its easy to shoot for longer sessions without tiring.  Mine is shooting JSB 8.4 into cloverleaf groups much of the time at 22yards off my back porch.  I'm getting just under 10fpe with a shortened factory spring and custom fit rear guide.  I think you will be happy and so will your arms!

The 50s is a fine gun for plinking and pesting. I do not find it tiring to shoot long sessions. Mine likes JSB 7.87, CPL, and FTT better than JSB 8.4. I wrote about my experience with the Vortek SHO kit for it in the accessories review gate.
I bought mine because I wanted something more casual to plink with than my chopped R9 hunter, but with more power and quality than my Daisy 880. Now I shoot the 50s almost exclusively. Enjoy yours.

Mine likes the JSB 7.87, JSB 7.33, and the H&N FTT 8.64 the best out of the 9 or 10 different pellets I tried. I get between 10 & 11 FPE depending on the pellet.  It has become my favorite shooter these days.  I'm sure you will enjoy yours.  Have fun !

For the most part, we're in a state park's 'no shoot' zone.  I just brought an 853 and a R7 because of the noise levels and short range.  Although it has apparently rained a bunch since we left east Texas, I miss my backyard range and my other air rifles.  Oh well, October will be here before long.....

( I'm not a great shot.)  I had to clean and lube the poor thing but even before that it shot great. Like to try to put in a picture not sure how. O as it turns out vortek is just down the road a Peace.so I put 1 of them in. that makes it smooth, but it didn't have to have it.  thanks den

That's great news. What pellets and scope are you using? Do you have chrony numbers?

Sent a hawk 3-9 back busted from a b-26 . They sent me a brand new one. Just put it on today and shot a good 200 rds. ( rainy day ) This thing likes jsb 8.44,7.33 and superdomes not to bad with cphp . could not put the thing down. Shooting inside to outside in rain and still grouping very well.  d

Congrats on your purchase!  Good choice, IMO.

The HW50s is the perfect combination of size weight and power for me.  I have the HW30 and HW95L, but the 50 is my favorite.  I need to shoot them more, but haven't had the time lately.  Too many projects.

Well I did eliminate my 1st critter with 30s yesterday. Only 10 yards but at that range efficient. Had misplaced my bi-pod so shot at it offhand and I was more surprised than the critter.
