If the UK does indeed have a 12 ft.lb. limit, 768 with 8 gr is 10.5 ft. lbs.... and that seems to make sense -- you wouldn't want to get your shooters in trouble by sending them 12.1 ft.lb. guns... especially if that might vary with certain pellets, etc.

768 is more like what you should get with 15-16 gr pellets here in the US...

Vinny, The 400 Compact seems to me to be a nice choice. Really that ends up being an RWS 94 with a moderator. It will probably be my next Cometa... After the Lynx.

If the Manou Bros are to be believed from the Pacific AG Expo video clip sounds like the lynx will start showing up in April. That would be great if true. Also the Walnut stock looks very nice. One thing I really like as an option is the ability to change calibers is an easy task rather than locking the buyer into one caliber.

Rich have you heard any confirmation about the delivery date?

i was at the show and met and talked with these guys. great products and info. they are also gonna have "re-branded pellets" for sale. we asked where are they made? he says germany...we ask so they are H&N"s?....he smiles and says we cant confirm or deny....lol.......all the products of theirs looked great, and i'm sure i'll get a couple cometa products soon

Does it count if I own a Cometa Indian pistol? I've wanted one for a long time, it seems. I looked for one in it's RWS-9b version but people don't often put them up for sale. I managed to get a new Indian from the Manou Brothers. This is a unique pistol in that it is an over-lever cocking pistol similar to the Webley Tempest. But whereas the Tempest's barrel is part of the cocking mechanism, the (cold-forged) barrel on the Indian remains in it's fixed position. In shooting this pistol, I note two problems: a)the rear sight is adjustable for windage; I had to shim it to gain any elevation. b) the trigger is non-adjustable and inconsistent in the weight of the pull. I have to note that I felt the same about the trigger on my Browning 800 pistol, but lately I've noticed that trigger has smoothened out and aids in accuracy now. Perhaps I need to put a few more rounds through the Indian for the trigger to get a bit smoother? I can say that a firm two-hand grip aids i accuracy, and I am so far pleased with the results I can get with the right pellet (RWS Super-H Points @6.9grn). The pistol can be shot single-handedly becfause it is nowhere near as heavy as the Browning. Just waiting on the trigger to get right.

I have a Fusion in .177. I love it. Cocks nice, and very accurate. Its a little louder then I thought it would be. It has surprising power for how easy it is to cock.

mlrs_27m, I wonder if you feel it is loud because of the air stripper. I haven't tested it out, but I assume the stripper makes it quieter downrange, feeding some of the report back to the shooter.

I honestly think its the action that seens loud. When I had a npss in .177 it seemed much more quiet. The Cometa has that sharp pop. I would love to try stading 20 - 30 yards away and listen to it.

What is the difference between the 300 and 400 velocity wise? Are you going to carry any of those camo'd 300's? J

The 300 is rated as follows:
.177 260m/s (853ft/s)
.22 220m/s (721ft/s)

The 400 is rated as follows:
.177 305m/s (1000ft/s)
.22 260m/s (853ft/s)
.25 200m/s (656ft/s)

of course that depends on what pellet you are using to measure. My .22 Fusion, which is the same power plant as the 400, shoots 800f/s with 14 gr. that is right about 20 ft. lbs. Meter your expectations from there.

My first gun was a Crossman 3100 / AKA Cometa 100. Not a bad gun, a springer with a claimed velocity of 600 fps but with thousands of shots and lot of abuse (dry firing, rolling 10 bbs down the barrel and making into a shot gun of sorts... all kind of stuff), I am sure it is lucky to be around 500 fps now. It was a great fun from shooting in the basement at about 25 feet and not bad outside as long as you were not shooting much more than 20 yards or so. It claimed hundreds of birds many squirrels and even a rabbit about 50 feet out.

I still have it at my parents house.... I might just break it back out if I get a chrono to see what it shoots at. I am sure it could use some TLC and maybe a new spring.

I'll have to see what the 100s cost these days. Mostly there is no mention of anything below the 200/220/RWS92
