Couple of questions about Weihrauch HW30S stock choices--standard vs. deluxe

It looks as though the HW30S is in my near future, but I need to decide between the standard and deluxe stock, with the deluxe being an additional $40 feature. I'm not stressing over the difference in a gun I intend to keep and pass down to a grandchild one day.

You get the nice checkering on the deluxe and a different stain, right? Are there any other differences between the two?

What about cheek pieces--are they the same on both sides on both stocks so that the gun is truly ambidextrous? My wife, hopefully, will also be shooting it. I'm a lefty and she is backwards.

The breech block is exposed on the deluxe, which seems a little strange to my novice eye. I would have thought the metal would have been covered on the deluxe, but then again I guess that piece of wood covering the metal at the end of the forearm on the standard stock may be more susceptible to being broken. I doubt there is much likelihood of that occurring, however.

DLX Stock will always be worth a little bit more , always be a bit nicer to have and certainly makes for a nicer Ag to hand Down.
That was my reasoning for choosing the DLX.

It's an Ambi stock ...wife and I are both left handed , but I have a always shot righty--- More of an ambi shooter.

By the way, you mentioned your wife. How does she (or does she) get along with cocking your HW50S? I keep wandering back to the 50S and probably will until I order one or the other. Plus--the standard 50S comes with checkering.

She doesn't like the 50s ... The size of the 30s and the R7 suit her best ... and the cocking effort is no issue.  Not so with the 50 .

If you're going to be sharing , I'd go 30s or R7. you can always pick up a used 50s later.
