Elevation Clicks??? HW Sights

Ok ladies and gentlemen, I have a question....

Does anyone know what one click in elevation on an HW rear sight is equal to?  I know it will vary with distance but what is the standard measurement?  Maybe it's in the reading material that comes with the rifle but I am currently at work for a looooong time I won't be home to look until Monday.  Thanks for helping a fellow out!

It's one of those:  "The answer will depend on exactly which sight you might have!"   

To give you something to think about with working (watch the fingers if you work with machines!!)

Target style peep rear sights are typically 1/4 minute of angle per click.  That translates to about 1/4" at 100yds or 1/40th of an inch at 10yds.  The exact conversion is a bit off from that but is insignificant. 

A few are 1/8" per MOA.  Others can be 1/2 MOA. 

If the little guy is holding the rifle in questions it has a notch and blade system that may be more coarse from 1/4 up to 1MOA / click.   


I'm too blind for them so they generally live in my gunbox.

Actually, the elevation and windage changes that a click moves the sights should be linear and not impacted by the motion of the pellet. 

However, you are correct that the effect as seen by the shooter for sight adjustment seems to include the velocity, etc.  Elevation change will be directly proportional to distance so a 0.5MOA click at 10yds would be 0.05" change, at 20yds it would be 0.10" , at 40yds 0.20" and at 100yds 0.5"
