What are you measurements?
One thing you might already know they recommend having the target 10-20yds from the shooter.
Here are my measurements:
"Muzzle To Target (A)"
513 inches = 42.75ft
"Device to Muzzle (B)"
27 inches
"Device to Pellet Path (C)"
35 inches
Hope you can get it working.

Zulu, It must be your enviroment. Good Luck when you can get to the range. I live out in the country, meaning nothing around me at all. I set up in my driveway at 20 yards and used a steel plate 1/8" x 10" x 10" like yourself. I put the phone 1 yard out from the muzzle and 1 yard to the side everything measured precisely out like you did. I didn't have much time to test but it seemed to work pretty well. It matched cross referencing chairguns predicted tragectories using two different rifles and calibers that I know the tragectories on. I certainly hope that you can get it to work out for you........... Thank You

I'll try again tonight at the house before I hit the range on Saturday. I'll try to set it up again and this time will put the phone right down the middle.
Here are my measurements...and it is all the room i got...backyard is small and in the city!!!
A = Distance from muzzle to target 30' or 10 yards. Measured it exact!
B = 24' and 6' (2 numbers here because I tried the phone close to target and tried it closer to muzzle...both were a no go.
C = 16" I shoot sitting down and using a bipod like when i shoot HFT...so muzzle is about 3 feet off the ground and I got the phone on a bucket about a 16" off the ground. Phone is off to the side...do not want to risk a hitting my $400.00 S4 and my wife ending my shooting career!!!
So tonight I will switch from a steal plate to a wood target so the sound is more of a Smack!!! than a Tonggggg! I will put phone in the middle (off to the side) and see if I can get a different result. My phone is monitoring at (41,000 Mhz) according to what Chrono says.
I also know my pellet data is correct...as well. I am using cheap Crosman 14.3 and not my good JSB's to run these experiments.
The reason for all this trouble is that I need chrony data to input my guns power specs into Chairgun...so I can then get a Mildot chart output...that I can then use to write onto my scope for HFT matches.
Need to know the power of my weapon shooting 14.66 H&N's, 15.89 JSB's and 18.13 JSB's....I even want 21.14 H&N numbers.
Zulu
EDIT: Ughhhh just found out that our range is going to be close due to rain...never had such a hard time finding a place to shoot in all my life!!! I got to drive 2.5 hours just to go shoot a pellet gun??? WOW!!!

I used it before I bought a regular chrono.
I found some tricks to help it work.
I paid for the full app.it was worth it.
On a phone, the microphone is optimized for being close to your mouth (the sound source)
I found my best results were when I used a set of earbuds with a lapel mic built in.
They are more sensitive.
I used a competition electronics chrono from a friend to compare it to.
I use iPhones and iPads, so my is somewhat different than the android.
Also, not good using it inside.
The echos drive it nuts..
It would read most of my guns well, but the ones with a TKO on it would not register, they were just too quiet.
I still use it sometimes because it is quicker to lay my iPad on a small end table we keep on the back porch, and shoot across it.
Where The table legs need to sit, I marked with paint on the back patio, so I could put the small table back in the same place every time, and my target stays in the same place. 10 meters away.
In using the chrono to calibrate it, I found it needed to be set just a little different than the exact measurements.
It needed the measurements set to 35 ft, not 33 to get the same reading as the chrono.
Your mileage may vary..
Biggest suggestions I can offer.
1 use a lapel mic.
2 either use it outside, or in a big room with carpeting to reduce echoes.
You may not here it, but the microphone hears the pressure wave..
I really like the app, I wish they would make it read from regular chrony's.
I now have the caldwell, it connects to the iPhone or iPad, but I like the interface and features on the chrono connect app better than the caldwell app.

I make 2 predictions;
ON THE DATE WHEN US TROOPS ARE ISSUED AN Energy Pulse Weapon,
1. The US Soldier will have on his person a version of the Colt 1911.
2. He will be aiming the NEW Weapon at someone carrying an AK47.
