No, it doesn't record the trajectory, only the velocity, time, and distance....

Hey Bob,
Does it record the actual velocity or the component moving away from the instrument? For example, if the bullet was moving at a 45 degree angle to the instrument then the whole velocity would be the combination of the velocity moving away and the velocity moving perpendicular to that line. I'm guessing that the doppler measures the velocity moving away?

Correct. If you are shooting at an angle you need to multiply the cosine of the angle to get the actual velocity result. Shooting perpendicular to the beam yields 0 velocity.

The instrument is setup right beside the shooting location, so you are measuring the velocity of the bullet moving away from the rifle.... The angle of the trajectory is so small that within the range of the unit it can be ignored....
