Rubber Mulch Rubbermaid Container Pellet Trap

I needed more stopping power for my break barrels and Benjamin Discover .22 so I went the rubber mulch in a Rubbermaid container which provides a large shooting area.

The container is a Rubbermaid Roughneck Storage Box - 25 gallon 28.8" L x 19.7" W x 16.5" H.
I had a laptop box which I had to cut down just a little bit to fit in the Rubbermaid container.  I wrapped the box in Gorilla tape, put a heavy duty 50 gallon garbage bag in the box and filled it with rubber mulch.  Cut the bag down and tapped the box shut and put it in the Rubbermaid container.  I used a couple metal rods from broken driveway reflectors I had and metal clips to hold targets.

I’ve got almost 1000 rounds into it all from 5 to 10 meters using various guns .177 & .22 my recent being a Benjamin Discover .22 and nothing has made it through the box.  After 500 rounds I re-taped the front and slid a new piece of cardboard wrapped in Gorilla tape inside the box between the bag with mulch and the front of the box creating a new piece of cardboard to shoot through.  As that gets shot up just slide in a new piece of cardboard.  I had very little mulch come out of the box and what did was contained in the container.

The light is a $15.00 remote controlled light I got a wmart and used ties to hold it in place.  I left the zip ties loose enough to slide the light in and out. 
 
If you count the light the cost was around $35.00.  I found the container on sale for $10.00.

Very nice trap. I like that there's room to hang spinners in it too. Do pellets ever bounce out of the plastic container off of the tennis ball or spinners? Also, what is the target on the right side?  Edit: The right side in the second to last picture.

The yellow ball is a foam golf ball which pellets pass through.  There is a little splatter when shooting spinners or the knock down squirrel target on the right. However, I made a enclosure to catch the splatter.

I filled it about half way and evened the mulch out and then filled the rest and evened it out.

I have a couple round metal rods I got a Ace Hardware as well as the metal rods that red round reflectors come on for marking driveways and such.  They're a couple bucks at Wmart or any hardware or large box store such as Home Depot or Lowes.
