Airscopes Mag-Mounts

I have a Crossman G1 Phantom, when I got it, it came with a centerpoint 6x32 scope and a mount that looks like this:
https://www.pyramydair.com/images/acc/RGPMPOFS38-25H4.jpg
I recently purchased a Centerpoint 4-16x40 from Wally world and as I was mounting it, the reticle was a little offset, but I couldn't rotate the scope because the bottom of the Elevation/windage adjustment housing was bottomed out on the Mount between the rings. It was touching the bottom of the rings, but the housing was touching too. So, after doing some reading, I tried to shim the rings, so I could elevate the scope enough, so I could rotate and align the reticle.
I used electrical tape and some hard plastic shims that I made from the front of a notebook. I used about 3 pieces of tape and the plastic shims. Tightened the rings down and it worked, I rotated the scope to where it was level.
I tried to sight it in last weekend at 25 yds, but I bottomed the elevation knob trying to bring the groups up and it liked about 5-6 inches being zeroed. I figured it was because I had to shim, so I took the scope off and noticed two small dents(only on the rear eyepiece ring), the front is fine), where the plastic shims had "dug in". There not big, barely noticeable, so I tried to mount it again just using tape and elevated the rear(eyepiece)ring more that the front. I also had taken both elevation/windage and centered both by counting total clicks and halving them. That helped some, but, it's not grouping now. I know it was grouping good with the other scope, so I don't believe it's the gun(other that a little barrel droop), just the scope is longer, it was shimmed bad, and I believe the mount and/or scope is moving and won't hold zero(pretty sure it's the scope because of all the tape I had to use, to bring the shots up). The scope is not bent where the dents are, turning the windage/elevation knobs does move the reticle.
So, I'm going to order the Airscopes Mag-Mount and this is my question. Do you believe the 45 will be better than the longer 40? The other mount being offset, put the scope just a little far back for comfort, but, I do want to keep the rear ring off the dents(I really don't believe it'll matter as the are very small and thin). I'm leaning toward the shorter Mag-Mount 45, even if it covers the dents, I believe it'll be ok. I know by shimming the rear ring the second time, that it has a little barrel droop, as it did bring the shots up.
What do you think?? Another question, about how long does it take to get the Mag-Mounts if they are in stock? I'd like to get it up and running pretty quick, I need to get rid of some varmints.
Thanks in advance, I hope I was clear enough in my description. Feel free to ask questions, and I'll probably be ordering by Wed at the latest.
Thanks again.
Dwayne

Just to fill in some info...
I ship first class mail if you order just the mount. Otherwise I'd have to raise the price ;-) It is 2-5 days depending on where you live. If you order with a scope, the scopes go priority, and you will almost always get them in 2 days. I could use slower services, but I find it doesn't save too much and I prefer getting things where they are going quickly.
I always have the mounts in stock.
The dimensions are in this image:
I like the longer mounts because I like bringing the scope back. It is just the way I hold... But you get a lot of choices as to where to set the rings on that long rail.
The one issue you can run into, and I did with a minox scope I have that was very short, is the rail might actually be long enough that it will contact the rail if you try and bring the scope back too far.
I believe the G1 has a pretty regular dovetail. I don't think you'll have issues mounting either the 40 or 45.

Thanks, Richard. I believe I'll go with the 40 then, because the Centerpoint 4-16x40 is pretty long and I'd rather put the rear ring away from the dented area of the scope. One more question. Is the elevation for the "droop" easy to set with the scope on the rail, or will I have to remove the scope/rings, set it and keep doing that till I get the elevation set right??
Oh, and I fully understand about the shipping and that isn't a problem, shipping prices everwhere are going up, while looking at bases the other day, I seen some shipping prices in the 12-15 dollar range just for 3-5 day ground! I was mainly just looking at how they were shipped. You'll probably be receiving the order tomorrow.
Thanks for the info, it helped greatly

It depends on the scope, BUT, it isn't hard to take care of. Because the rings are Weaver, they have one screw on each ring. What I do when testing is manually tighten the rings, and if I need to adjust more unscrew the rings leaving them attached to the scope. It would be a pain if you leave the rings on and remove the scope from the rings -- too many screws!

I purchased from airscopes two of the standard ones last week for my two TH56's. I already installed one. For adjusting the elevation, it helps a lot having a set of allen wrenches with a "round" end in one side so you can tilt the wrench a little while turning and applying some downward pressure with the scope mounted. Didn't took long to adjust and I was able to compensate the barrel droop almost perfectly without needing to dial the scope to the barrel. Just a few clicks for bringing predators and jsb's poi (.22) to poa @ 20yds. Haven't done extensive testing but after almost half a tin of predators everything is holding up tight

It's definitely the most do-it all scope mount i've ever used. On dovetails it likes it allows for an infinite amount of adjustment, i have used it on a few different guns and am very impressed with it. J

+++++1,000 to Richard and Airscopes. Got the Mag-Mount 40 today in the mail, put it on the G1, set the elevation just a little up and it was perfect!! Shot about 20 pellets to sight it in, got it pretty close, snugged all the screws down and going to let it set for a day and let the blue loctite set-up.
Very happy customer Richard!!!!!!!!!!!

if this is the mount being discussed ....
http://www.airscopes.com/Zen/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2_5
they look just like the hawke adjustable 3/8" or 11mm to Weaver Elevation Adaptor
http://www.hawkeoptics.com/38-or-11mm-to-weaver-1-piece-elevation-adaptor.html
the shorter one looks sturdier to me , the longer thin extension has me fearing it could bounce/flex a bit from recoil ......... i could be completely wrong about that though . it definitely looks easier to adjust than the burris or sun adjustable mounts and is far less expensive too . thanks to the OP for inspiring me to search google for "Airscopes Mag-Mount" because i hadn't seen that link before and it explains the mount much easier for me to understand
