Disco gage question

I hope I'm not asking a question that's been asked before but here goes. The benjamin discovery had a max psi is 2000. But when you are looking at the HPA scale of the gage the green portion extends past 2000 to many 2200 or 2300.
Is there a reason the green extends past 2000 before going yellow?
I never pump the gun past 2000 but once I got carryed away while pumping it up and cranked I up to the very top of the green.

I would wager a guess that the disco is "best" shot at 2k or under however the tube has no problem at 2200-2300psi, so green means good ok to fill to here.

So it's kind of like a safety net zone?

Yes it is a safety net!
The tube itself can hold a lot more, but other parts holding things together on the tube are only safe up to 2000 psi. The only thing on the Disco preventing a 3000 PSI fill is the 3 valve screws that are 8-32 in size, if those are upgraded to a 10-32 high tensile strength screw, then you can go to 3000 PSI.
I had my Disco's valves removed and drilled and tapped for the 10-32 screws and I use a RVA to add power to the hammer and fill to 3000 PSI. But always let a professional do it if you are not capable!
