? For those who've swapped out their NP stocks.

Just wondering, if you've swapped out your thumbhole stock for the Summit piece, how has it affected your shooting? I'm still trying to figure mine out.

I spent some time last night trying different holds on the pistol grip and they definately affect the poi. I tried putting my thumb more in the hole, I tried wrapping my finger more around the trigger (can't do both because at the same time because I have sausage fingers). I even tried concentrating on how much pressure I applied with my thumb as I squeezed the trigger. I just couldn't get happy about the consistency. Maybe it will come with more practice but I feel like I'm just too intimate with the thumbhole, so to speak, to allow the gun to do what it wants.

While poking around last night, I found a few NP owners that suggested their guns preferred a firmer grip over the traditional artillery hold. I'm going to try that tonight and see how it works but I wonder how repeatable the results will be holding it that way.

For me I like standard stocks better. I did find that my groups closed up when I switched to Quest stock.

My Trail/Summit shoots best when I hold it loose. Let it do what it wants. You'll get a better position on the trigger with the Summit stock.

I have only shot a couple of groups with the new Summit stock on my Trail NP so I won't comment yet on whether the groups have shrunk but I can say that I feel more comfortable with the traditional stock. My gun likes a loose grip.

hay you just changed you stock recheck all your mounting screwws if they are loose you may find it hard to be accurate i just put my stock back on after refinishing it and was shooting all over and my screws were loose

Finding the right loose hold has proven difficult. Can I just leave the screws loose and hold the stock tight?

Thanks guys for your responses. I am trying to restrain myself right now from calling Crosman for the Summit stock. I want to give it a couple of weeks and see if I can get used to the thumbhole but I have a feeling I'll be replacing it anyway.

Well, so much for restraint, I just broke down and ordered it.  

They are backordered at the moment though so it looks like the thumbhole and I are going to get to spend some more time together. The csr told me they had 15 on the way but couldn't really give a ship date.
