Loving my "new" 1975 Sheridan Blue Streak

I grew up shooting a Crosman 1400 pneumatic .22 rifle, and got very good with it.
In fact, after decades of shooting firearms, I consider some of the shots I took with that Crosman to be some of my best shooting ever.
But I always wanted a Sheridan Blue Streak. My dad seemed to respect them, even as he choked on the price. And I was intrigued by the .20 caliber.
Over the last few months, I have reentered the world of airguns. I made a couple purchases, a GAMO Bone Collector and a custom shop 2400KT.
I read some posts elsewhere about the Blue Streak, and started looking at auction sites to see what they were going for.
Finally, I found one on Gunbroker going for $125 with no bids, so I put in a bid of my own. Ended up winning it.
My Blue Streak showed up last week. I couldn't wait to open the box, and I was pleased to find it arrived in great shape, and that it was pressurized and held air.
It is missing the standard rear sight, and as a 1975 model, is not drilled for the Williams 5D. It did have a set of intermounts on the barrel.
I got a selection of 5mm pellets from Pyramid Air, and have shot about 50, and the gun shoots great.
Had an old 400 page paperback book I shot at for fun, and 8 pumps put both a JSB Exact and a Polymag Predator right through it.
I'd like to find an original sight for it (PS...PM me if you have one). Eventually, I will scout mount a pistol scope. A steroid tune is a real possibility.
Not often one can make a childhood dream come true for $125.

Congratulations on a great rifle. If you send the rifle to Mac1 for a steroid tune I think he also can modify a Williams peep for it.

Great rifle! I bought two of them in 1976, one for my wife and one for me. I took a couple of rabbits with them. Both were fitted with Weaver 4 power .22 rifle scopes. Either of them would put all it's shots on the back of a match book cover at 25 yards. I remember calling Sheridan to ask them why the rifle would only shoot about an inch at 25 yards. The folks at Sheridan said, "What do you expect? It is an air rifle."
I really like my Diana RWS model 48 and my BSA Lonestar but I still miss those very well made pumpers.

Try Bryan & Associates for a rear sight. Tim McMurray may have one too.

I'm a little concerned as to whether the original sight causes barrel splitting, which some posts have referred to.
