I gave two different Beeman pellets a go since Pyr had them on sale. ($2.95 tin 250c)
Reviewed and compared in my mid '80's Crosman Powermaster 664x Model 66c with 4x15 scope.
Range of 20 feet, four pumps on my wobbly makeshift rest.
Target is printed dimes in actual dime size.
Ten shots each.
Pellets are.
Crosman Premier Dome 7.9 gr. (My 66 loves these)
Beeman Coated Wad cutter 7.8 gr.
Beeman Coated Hollow Point 7.2 gr.
The Domes just seem to be what my 66 wants as they stayed the most accurate & gave a tighter group of the three.
This is my second box of 1250 Crosman Domes and so far do the best for mine.
*Dime* Target
The Domes held a decent group & well under a dime size group.
The Wads walked around a bit, but still stayed in a dime size group.
The Hollows walked around a lot. Did stay in a basic dime size group.
Do have to subtract at least 10% of each pellets performance due to shooters bad aim & the wobbly rest.
The orange dot with a dime traced in the center got 13 of the Domes. I got a bit spread out with it, but still pretty happy with the grouping.
The card was with the Hollow Point. Have to use 10 pumps on the card. 4 pumps will deflect away from the card about half way through.
Had to shoot twice at the card. First shot skimmed along the side & took a piece from the back, second shot took it in half.
With the Beeman's not being as accurate as the Crosman's in my gun, the Beeman's still seem to be a pretty good pellet.
AND at $2.95 a tin..... I couldn't pass it up.
I will prob get more of both, especially at the current price. As the price rises, then switch to another & give those a go.
So far, I've given 5 different pellets a try & the Domes are by far what she wants.
