Ok, I know this type of thing is old hat to some of you guys.
After looking at lots of pictures, reading lots of blogs and forums, I decided I wanted to try to take a stock 2240, and build it into a totally different animal..... With the added goal of making it hit 700 fps with a 14.3 grain pellet( eventually, I will do shot counts, flat strings , efficiency etc..) anyway below is the fruit of my labor.

Cool, can't wait for the report.
Welcome to the addiction.. It never ends..
Looks sweet.
Personally I would look for a way to move the bipod off the barrel
to the barrel band or to the lower tube to improve accuracy..

Nice work. Quite impressive gains, well done.
And again welcome to the life long addiction. Now it will always be "Just one more" mod, and "just one more AirRifle/AirPistol"

Egillman.....
I'm new at rebuilds but I started realizing the gains with a combination of things....
The 14.5 inch barrel certainly made a difference, then I believe ( believe it or not) the aftermarket hammer spring along with the rear adjuster. My favorite?.... The beefy trigger and trigger shoe!
Mods:
Hipac HPA
14.5 inch barrel
Steel breech
Aftermarket transfer port
Aftermarket valve
Aftermarket hammer spring
RVA
Upgraded trigger with wide trigger shoe
Stainless bolt and probe
Stock
Muzzle break
New slotted breech screw ( the stock one is junk)!

Ok guys.....this build has under gone a few more modifications since I last checked in.... Namely a longer Barrel, ( 24 inch), a new LDC, and a different power adjuster.
Longer barrel- better accuracy, more FPS
New LDC- quieter, a little more weight up front
New RVA- the last one would simply" deform" the plastic spring guide as I tightened it ( maybe too much)
The new one has a metal spring guide, and a thicker screw mechanism ... Rendering it impossible to bore through the end of the guide.
I did shoot some strings today, to start playing around with best fill/ efficiency/ shot count.... I will post those results tomorrow ( very lazy at present), but for giggles, I did max out some things just to see how fast I could make a pellet fly...... With a lead Crosman 14.3 grain I hit 781.9
And with a Crosman SSP 9.5 grain, I hit this:

Ok guys..... Some numbers recorded yesterday. These are by no means a "tuned" string, but all shot with 14.3 grain, backed off on the RVA after the first string, and lowered fill pressure to 1800 psi after initially starting at 2000
String 1- 10 shots 2000 PSI RVA near max
781.9
772.9
771.3
766.9
757.3
744.3
740.2
728.3
710.3
71.59 ES 23.00 SD
String 2 - 15 shots 2000 PSI RVA backed to 3-4 turns out
710.8
724.5
734.3
741.9
755.2
755.5
746.4
759.6
740.0
753.6
745.3
730.2
716.6
706.0
698.7
60.9 ES 19.46 SD
String 3 - 15 shots 1800 PSI RVA backed out 5-6 turns
714.3
718.0
722.6
719.4
722.4
718.9
717.6
709.5
698.6
689.1
676.9
661.6
650.1
636.0
615.6
106.9 ES 35.19 SD
String 4 20- shots 1800 PSI RVA. Tweaked in 1.5 turns
727.1
724.6
726.3
721.8
727.4
718.3
725.6
728.0
725.9
731.8
729.1
728.9
724.0
718.9
704.1
693.0
684.6
657.2
630.7
611.3
ES?? SD?? ( did not write down before power off)
Some of you are WAY better at interpretation of these numbers..... I think a huge piece I'm missing is the ability to know what my ending pressures are at the end of a string.....
