Athlon Argos sidewheel by UTG

Well I studied scopes for more than a year now, and finally bought the Athlon Argos 8-34x56 BTR. Pyramid  air does not offer a sidewheel for it. After some searching I found that some of us adapt a UTG SW100B sidewheel. The video by Dave C locks up when I try to watch it.
Okay long story short,  the Athlon has 18 notches and the UTG sidewheel has 16 notches. Do you guys cut off the notches, or did I get the wrong wheel?

Trigger pulled... and I blame YOU HunterWhite!  (chuckle)

Seriously, I hope it IS everything I want it to be and a bag of chips...   It will be my first FFP scope, so that is going to be interesting and hopefully advantageous for my pesting.   Not to mention, that I hope I will be able to do some "actual" long range shooting where I can see the target well enough to not just hope I hit *something*.

We will see.   It is due here Monday.

I ordered high rings, but I was distracted and clicked on the UTG picatinny rail ones, I need dovetail. I will probably use an adapter to try it out this weekend.
I did get a chance to look through it, but it was already twilight, still I focused on a leaf at about 40 yards. I will know more when the sun comes up.

I ordered these hoping they will be high enough...


If they are not, then I will have to wait to use the scope until I get higher rings.   Yeah, these are cheap, but I have had good luck with cheap rings.   As long as they can hold the scope tight, it seems that more money spent is wasted.   I am sure many will disagree.

The 56 mm objective will probably require at least high rings. I did read one review where the extra high rings were used because the clearance to the barrel was very small with high rings.

It will depend on the rifle.
The Flash, and Marauder have the receiver above the barrel shroud.
The Condor could use low rings and the objective would still clear the barrel, but the ocular must be a comfortable height.
 
I will post photos in a separately.

I want to try this scope on a Savage A22 that has accuracy issues to eliminate the possibility that the current scope is causing the problems.
Eventually this Athlon will end up on a Condor. I can't post a photo of the Athlon mounted on the Condor because I don't have the proper rings.

What rifle are you going to mount your Athlon?

Okay,  I reread your earlier posts,  Nova Freedom. I don't have a freedom. Hopefully a freedom owner will see this. Maybe post the question in the darkside.

Okay,  this is a photo of the Athlon on it target platform. This is a Condor in 25 caliber. The Alpha scope was light and clear, but I wanted more zoom, and that first focal plane pizzaz.

Note that the supplied flip up lens cap can be removed from the scope and placed on the sunshade. 😎
