FWB 124 score, I hope!!

Good to hear that you finally got it working.
I honestly think that I would never sell my FWB 124D.
Did you check its velocity over a chrony yet?

   Glad to hear you got it back together.  I wouldn't worry too much about velocity, as every kit produces different results in different rifles.  Even JM will tell you that, and he has done the research, with the latest 124s having the most potential for the highest velocities.  If you get a chance, try out some JSB RS pellets, they have proven to be exceptionally accurate in all of my FWB rifles.

you seem to be misinformed, as the older guns have more potential to make higher power..

I'm not misinformed.  Ask Maccari for yourself who has done the research.

People also need to understand the true velocity of a good 124.
 They came out running around 760-770 fps with under 8 gr pellets with sloppy tolerances, oiled up etc.
 Tom’s hunt for velocity is not valid on such an old gun with a suspect tube. Eyeballing a tube yields nothing. The older they are the worse they shoot as far as power unless you do things to them. Over-springing is the wrong thing to do on those first run of guns. The best 124′s-127′s are in the 40K range as far as velocity.

  I'm not an expert, I just came across a few good blog entries at Pyramydair on part 6 of their "A shrine built for a Feinwerkbau  124" series, where JM gives some good info about his kits and springs and seals in, with regards to velocity/date of manufacture, various 124s.  Thanks for the additional info.
