Remove shroud from Beeman R11?

I have a new Beeman R 11 with a Hawke 6.5 x 20 x 42 mounted.  I centered the scope on V blocks and find the gun shoots @ 12" low at 25 yds.  I'd prefer to get a lot closer before making minor adjustments with the elevation knob and would rather not shim.  Barrel bending seems like an answer, but assume the shroud would have to be removed first.  Is this a big deal?  I removed the hex head screws in the bottom of the shroud, but it doesn't budge.

Any tips?

It's not a shroud Papa, it's just a sleeve. I never tried to take mine off.
Here's a schematic from Gunspares, but it looks like the incorrect model as sights are shown.

I have an R11 and I use and adjustable mount.  I would think taking the sleeve off and bending the barrel would be bad because you could not get the sleeve back on.  So if you insist on bending do it with the sleeve on.  Just get an adjustable mount.  My R11 is a tack driver at all ranges.  I know that may not so good because you want to shoot right now but if it was me I would order the adjustable mount and wait a week for it to arrive.  If it wasn't for the sleeve I wouldn't be as concerned.
