1322 with mods, value ?

I have an opportunity to buy a 1322 with a shoulder stock, 14.5" barrel with a muzzle brake, modified trigger and transfer port. It's in really good condition and works just fine.

Do any of you know how much this gun is worth?

Really? Does it being a phase II gun made in 1981 matter at all? I'm surprised that all the mods don't increase the value.

Obviously there will be differing views, though that is what I have seen.   The mods usually will not add enough value to compensate for the value lost by it being used.  from what I have seen used Crosman 1322's tend to be worth about $15USD, and with that set of mods generally around $40USD.

Though if it is a phase II gun I would put it quite a bit higher.  Maybe around $110.

That's interesting, I'm amazed at how low air gun resale values are. The price the gun has on it is about what it would cost to buy a new 1322 and a shoulder stock so I guess it's more than reasonable. I know why I like vintage air guns but I'm curious why you place more value on a older 1322?

Your best bet is to surf the internet or other airgun forums and do a search for used 1322's and maybe that will give you an idea of what they are going for.
And not to put you off, but you can spend a ton of money tricking out a 1322 and then you can't get anywhere near how much you've spent on it when you sell it.
I just did a quick search and found them for $25 to $70 used.
Use your best judgement before laying down the cash.
And the only reason I know of that a "older style" 1322 would be worth more money than a new one is if it's still brand new in the box with all the paperwork in great condition.
And who in the world do you know that buys an airgun to leave it in the box??
We buy them to SHOOT!!!!!

Because they sell for more.

The phase II is rear cocking and a lot of people like that.

A boat is a hole in the water that you throw money into. An airgun build is the same thing. Why would I buy your build when I can make my own build. I would buy yours just for parts. Then use some of the parts on my build. Get it? This is a "hobby" not something to make money off of, unless you are the one making the "parts". If you like the guys build, buy it, shoot it, enjoy it.  Here is mine $300 + dollars later.

If you build a gun to suit you what you spend is no big deal because it satisfied you.
Don't expect someone else to be willing to pay the same amount for YOUR dream.
If the price seems reasonable to you go for it,if not RUN away

Then use some of the parts on my build. Get it? This is a "hobby" not something to make money off of, unless you are the one making the "parts". Though how did you spend $300?   Raw metal is not that expensive, and neither is Delrin.    Or are you counting your time as money?

Today I am going to be making 6 pistons for my AirGuns.   It seems that I always have some project for my AirGuns.

  a used air gun is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. There isn't a blue book, there are not hard values. It is worth what it is worth to you.

  not everyone can make their own parts. My grandfather who was my mentor in life always told me "if you can not make it yourself or fix it yourself it probably does not need to be done". So I'm a lot like you. Others do not have the talent or the tools or the creativity to think outside of the box.
   A quick for instance. 1322 $59, custom wood grips and custom wood pumparm, $70, custom made flat top piston $60, Custom wood stock, $150, it all add up really fastif you have to buy parts and can not make them yourself.

   I'm a wood worker with a variety of metal working tools. But no metal lathe (yet) or mill. I won't buy a metal barrel band for my 13xx's as I'm going to figure out how to make one with the tools I have. Going back to my grandfathers intelligence on the matter

Under the Air Guns Classified Gate is the Classifieds Archive Gate.  This is a listing of old completed classified adds that have sold.  You can see the advertised price and description of the mods done to the gun.  Of course you won't know that the actual agreed sale price ended up being. 

My sense is that mods using widely used parts and techniques add a little value to a gun but not very much.  You never know how much of a ham fisted hack the previous owner and modifier was.  Buggered fittings and fasteners can be par for the course.  You might also be buying somebody elses project gone wrong and the guy doesn't want to put any more effort into it.  When buying a modded air gun you are also buying the quality of the mods done to it as well as all of the subsequent use and possible misuse.

I had a very good experience buying a used and modded 1377 from a well known forum member for far less than the value of the gun plus all of the parts that went into the gun.  The agreed price was only about 1.5 times the price of a new 1377 from Amazon.

$18 for 100 4-48 screws to  make breach screws our of.
$ 4 transfer port seals
I know there is something else, but I can't think of it.
Anyway, you get the idea. When you see a good deal on a gun that is already built, buy it and use it for parts on your build.
