Breaking In my Silent Cat

I've put about 250 pellets downrange and the previous owner had only shot it about 100 times.The POI shifts after anywhere from 3-30 shots. The gun will also shoot supersonic with cphp's for 5 or six shots but then cool back down. It's only done this twice since I've been shooting it. Is this normal for a springer during the break in?

It is probably still dieseling which is why it is slinging the 7.9gr CPHP supersonic every now and then.

Step One: Clean the barrel, GooGone is your friend, patches patches and more patches...
                 Start with a string or dowel rod to either pull or push patches through the gun, first patch soak with GooGone, run it through twice, then clean dry patches until they come put clean and dry.

Step Two: Do not use any oils or other types of things that will burn, do not lube your pellets with any type of petroleum products or oils unless they are non-flammable.

Step Three: start the seasoning process all over again, if it still diesels then there is to much lube in the compression chamber and it will need to come apart to fix that...

I gave the barrel a good cleaning with dry patches but didn't have any googone. The gun shoots about 1.5" groups at 60 yards, I was just kind if concerned about the dieseling. I shot it some more last night and I think it's f8nally starting to calm down.

Just keep shooting.  Get at least 500-1000 shots thru it and I bet it will settle in.  You will burn off some excess oil and the gun will start to smooth up.
