LOL.......not very revolutionary but I bought a 3" long 1/4"-20 brass screw from Lowes to make a brass drift for removing the two R9 trigger group retaining dowels. I've been using an old steel nail with a blunted point "for ever" and decided to turn a non-marring brass drift. I also noticed a failed attempt to machine a TX200 "short stroke latch rod" (the latch end was machined too small) so I decided to use the scrap rod that was already threaded on one end as a handle for a hammer head that was made from a piece of scrap 3/4" diameter delrin to tap the brass drift. Here are a couple pics..........

Look'in good Ed! I see you went to school where I did, "Poor Boy's Academy". Then I got my PhD at the school of "Hard Knocks". It's kind of like the old saying "Poor boy's have Poor boy ways's". As I'm sure you know Necessity is the mother of invention. I'm getting ready to build a spring compressor myself, I'm thinking of using a small hyd. jack for the power on a welded up frame. I'm thinking of building it like a small hyd. press so it'll multifunction for a couple other projects also.

Thats nice, Ed. No reason handy homemade tools shouldn't be pretty too.
