Unexpected change in trigger performance, new Hatsan 1000s .22

Hello there!
I'm breaking in my new Hatsan 1000s .22 springer and up until now pretty impressed with its performance. I'm at about 100 shots and the spring is starting to quiet and I'm starting to see improved accuracy.
This afternoon while shooting I squeezed the trigger and at first nothing happened, after a fraction of a second the gun discharged. This happened again in about 10 out of the next 15 trigger pulls. It's really disconcerting, a couple times I took my eye from the scope before it discharged.
What do you all think? Anything like this ever happened to you? I've only cleaned the barrel so far. I'm nervous to disassemble but will if it is warranted.
Thank you for your replies!

That's a very hazardous condition. The piston is likely sticking in the bore. Your choice to return it or open it.

Alrighty, I just filled out an RMA. Out of curiosity, what would I be doing if I opened it?
