Pellet Weight Question for LGV .22

I have a LGV in .22 which is advertised to produce around 12 FPE. I haven't used my chrony yet, maybe I will do that this coming weekend. I've been experimenting with JSB 13.43, 14.35 and 15.89 pellets. Between the rifle breaking in and my inconsistent shooting skills I haven't reached a conclusion yet as to the most accurate pellet. When I'm shooting well they all shoot well
, but I think the 15.89 may be the best. Chrony test will be interesting. Question: Does a 16 gr .22 pellet strike you as too heavy for a rifle in the 12 FTE range? I am not feeling (doesn't feel harsh) or seeing adverse results (nothing shooting loose) from shooting the 15.89 pellets and they are making small, round groups.
I shot about 50 21 gr pellets with a HW80 20 FPE with 14 gr FTT and nearly shook both the rifle and me apart before I learned better
So is it safe to assume if the LGV is shooting smoothly I'm not shooting too heavy of a pellet that will cause premature wear on the spring and parts?

I have not tried any high dollar pellets yet. Tried Crosman premier domes,Gamo Match and good ole Crosman hollow points from Walmart. Of these three the canned Crosman HPs have shot the best. I sighted in with my Williams peep sight a few weeks ago in cold weather. Last Sunday at around shot 650 I started shooting a little high, could be break in could be warmer weather. If I get to shot today and it goes low it was weather. Bowzette, I thought we lived in the tropics man. Personally I think you risk harm to the rifle by shooting too light of a pellet rather than too heavy.

What happened to "our summers not so good but at least we donn't have to put up with winter"
Scott thinks the 15.89 JSB is a good weight for the .22 LGV. BTW I followed your leed and got a airstripper like you did. Looks good. I really like how easy it is to cock the LGV. Much easier than my HW97 and HW80.

While I think it might be a bit heavy, I recall Paul Capello found the 18.1 grainers from JSB to be his best.
How about some more details on the air stripper and some nice pics!

The Hatsan Air stripper is threaded 1/2-20 . Fits nicely and stays tight just hand tightened, I did put a little finger nail polish on the threads before installing it. I do think think strippers aid in accuracy, the principle is sound enough for Olympic shooters to use it. I normally don't go in for bling on my guns but this muzzle device looks right at home on the LGV.Surprisingly this air stripper did not increase the noise level of firing the rifle to any appreciable difference. I would not recommend using this muzzle device as a cocking aid as the tolerances are very tight and a slight bend would start pellet clipping, anyway the LGV is not hard to cock.

I just ordered a .22 LGV to go with my .177 LGV, and I'm paying close attention to this thread. I bought them both from AOA, and they told me they're having good results from the H&N FTT's in .22. Nothing specific on head size. I'll add my results once I get a few hundred pellets down range and it breaks in.
