Hoppe's Moly Oil

Has any seen or used Hoppe's Moly Oil? I purchased a tiny 14.9 ml bottle several years ago and cannot find any info on it. All I can find is their Moly Aerosol spray. The one I have is a small oil bottle that has a long tiny metal tube for pinpoint lubracation. Any info would be great.

Not sure at this time! I was just wondering if maybe it was be a mixture of Moly Paste and Silicone.

Since it's not listed on their website in the MSDS section, my guess is they don't sell it anymore.

However, if you contact them, they may be able to look up the the Moly Oil MSDS sheet and send you a copy, or at least answer your question.

I believe Hoppe's now market this as Elite Gun Oil.

or you can just take some moly grease, and mix it with any kind of oil you choose... go to honda, ask for M-77 Assembly lube... the stuff is thicker than toothpaste, and really really messy, sticky and works.  i put a slight ammount on the cocking arm and linkage on my TX200, and it has no visual wear to any of the blueing as of yet.... i also used the &^^& out of it on all my firearms... Glock 23, Winchester model 70 featherweight, Remington 760 pump rifle, Mossbert 835 ultra mag shotgun, Savage Stevens 200, etc... really good stuff... and a little tiny bit goes unbelievibly far... a 14 dollar bottle of2.65 OZ m-77 assembly paste has lasted me forever.... honda part # 08796-9010... the packaging claims 50 degrees F to 450 Degrees F working temp, resistant to chemical oxidation etc... made in japan.  i mix a bit of that with equal parts or so, of Militec-1, a synthetic dry lubricant... its liquid but its dried properties are amazing... mix them together, until a semi thick slightly runny paste is made.. store in a film canister, and use wherever you would anything else... amazing stuff... two great products mixed together.

I wouldn't just use any oil that you choose though. You can use just about any wt. oil but it should be a non-detergent oil.

 "About Genes Sundays Mystery Oil. That’s not his terminology, but mine. The formula is a closely guarded secret, however he probably won’t mind my letting you in on it. Take one tablespoon of Moly grease and mix it thoroughly with two ounces of 30wt non-detergent motor oil. Shake well. Serve as needed. Use sparingly on any metal to metal surfaces. Remember, a little of Moly goes a long way"

Made some up -it works great. Don't over-do it.
