The thumb eater was a B3-2, the same as mine. He had probably shot 6-800 rounds through it when it failed. It had worn enough, "not hardened", to the point where the latch failed and the lever closed. I never had that problem with mine, and am guessing by the dust collection on it, never will!

He prob got a lemon or it's not set right. I have over 3k shots on Mkne and the mechanism still looks/works fine.

Gator depending on just how much of a "Classic German Collectable" you are interested in, I do know that a respected member here ,and good friend of mine,(AustinE), has one of the **mother lodes** of Classic, German, (and probably one of the rarest/hardest to find).
If I remember correctly, it is a .20 R9 "Laser" with the Santa Rosa address. This means that Dr. Beeman himself hand built this rifle.
 I have shot this gun, and it is pretty amazing !
 I have watched Austin take head shots on GS's at 75+ yds.

 It has a few small nicks,scratches in the wood from regular useage, but it by no means has been abused at all.
 It would clean up with minimal effort.

 Hang on to you hat through,... because the blue book of airguns, Euro Edition, puts this baby at somewhere in the $1500+ range in it's current condition !
 I'm sure Austin would be a bit negotiable with a GTA member.

So again,... It really all depends on just how much of a classic you are looking for, hahaha.
But I do remember him telling me he wants to sell it to someone who can appreciate it.

You guys, when I went to Amazon, I somehow managed to place an order. I think I was in bed and feel asleep with my tablet in hand. I tried to stop the order but probably too late. I didnt check my email last night when they notified me of the shipment. I have a B3-3 in .22
Guess I have 2 choices, one keep it 2 sell on Craigslist, lol.

Sorry I didn't see the page turn.  Actually I am hoping to get lucky and steal classics from yard sales and Craigslist.

Anything with beeman name is gonna be high - I tried looking and found that even pawn shops overcharge a lot.
