Hogan Ripley Elite

Been looking around and have seen these rifles, and there really isn't much about them.

I have found some info about the two guy coming together and making this rifle now.  Now while not as good as they were previously, being hand made by a few guys.  I do know that the old rifles were said to be a heck of a rifle.  Though I am wondering about them for possible field target as well as a hunting rifle.

Not sure on caliber, though I know the .177 is a better ft round, though I like the .22 for hunting.

Just really curious if these newer rifles are being used at all our are just sitting on the shelf not getting sold.  Would really like some info on them if any of you guys have one.

Was wondering about that.

From what I have found Mr. Hogan teamed up with Mr. Wilkins to make the rifle they have at AOA.  They sound like the same version, just built with modern cnc machines instead of being hand made.  So increasing production as well as bringing down the price.

Will post in the ft section and see what is known.

The Mass produced Ripley's are nothing like the ones Steve makes.  Steve still makes them by himself.  Hard to get though.  I have had the good fortune of shooting a few of the real Ripley's.  All for FT purposes, they are phenomenal rifles.  There are maybe 20-30 in the US.  And I mean the real ones.  The Hogan's are not considered to be Ripley's by many, especially those over in the UK. 

Personally, have not shot the Hogan versions.  But from those that have, I am told they are nothing compared to the originals.  Triggers are not as good for one.  Check this site to see what Steve is still making:

Yah have seen a few of the real rippers, and those are just lovely!!  Though know I will never get one of those, or take it out hunting either.  Well take a look at the site though, thanks Tyler.
