Thanks for the replies. That may be the determining factor. I don't think there are any aftermarket triggers available for the Hatsans, are there? My Stoeger X20 had a "bad" trigger that I remedied with an aftermarket trigger. Fixed her right up. The Hatsan model 85 Sniper Vortex I have been looking at has all the features I have been looking for in an air rifle. Proper length and weight for me, sling swivels, Vortex ram, and magnum power. I'd hate for the trigger to be the deciding factor, with everything else being what I want in a rifle. Can anyone add any more insight as to just how complicated getting the trigger right on one would be? Thanks again.Bill in SC

A general cleanup and smoothing will do a lot to help it out. It is not a "bad" trigger, compared to the Crosman B18/19 platform triggers its not bad at all, just not great, and very touchy if you modify the adjustment screws. If the trigger is your biggest concern about the rifle, I wouldn't consider it a deal breaker. I'd be more concerned about overall Hatsan QC and the good chance the rifle will need a full cleanup and tune.
