Is this a group or a pattern?



Okay, to be fair, I was inspired by those of you who have been posting stories of long distance shooting.  So, before you go making assumptions, take a look at what the target looks like from the shooting position.



I am not accustomed to shooting at this distance, and much of what is pictured in the first photo is me figuring out the drop of various weight pellets.  I was just happy to be on paper from that distance.  16x magnification helps, but the scope still leaves a lot to be desired.  I think I am going to enjoy this challenge.

Hey Sam!! I love the long distance challenge!! I usually set something like this up. I'll start shooting the quad target to get feedback on holdover. Then try grouping.
This was at 100 with a 56 that wears a 8-32x56 Sidewinder.
Stick with it.....it can be very rewarding!!!

Thanks Joe!  I need a quad spinner.  I shot at one at Gene's fun shoot two years ago.  Great feedback tool.

What pellet are you feeding that 56?

Love that target Sam!! Steel plinkers in the GTA mall.
I use JSB 10.3 only in the 56. Best pellet for distance in that rifle!!

I should have read your signature more closely.  Your pellet of choice won't help me at all. I'm shootin .22!

Okay, part of the problem with my long distance challenge is the junk scope that WAS sitting on her.  Every time I got the elevation adjusted where it was accurate, the windage would shift.  So I'd adjust the windage, and after a shot or two, the elevation would change.  This was infuriatingly frustrating. I swapped it for the one on the D34.  It is grouping now.  Still nothing to brag about.  I'll post the improved groups later.

WOW I did not know HW made them in a shot gun LOL!!! sorry! I'd say your pellets don't work with that barrel or you have a seal issue IMO
