what the wound looks like when a squirrel has been dispatched?
Got this guy pokin around stashing stuff for later. Grabbed the HW97 and loaded a RWS H point in .22.
He was pretty close and I was shooting downward so I aimed a little high and a little more for the fuse box. The 97 is a heavy lady and he was movin quite a bit. I thought, now or never and let it rip.
Down it went without a twitch. Amazed, I let it stiffen up and hoped it would attract some magpies. Not so lucky there.
I picked it up with a plastic bag and sprayed some Raid inside to kill any bugs that may have been living with it. You don't want to get fleas from handling your prey.
Took it in and washed off the blood to see what it looked like and to see if there was an exit wound, nope.
Got a blade and a sharp pointy shiskaboob skewer to see if I could find the pellet. Aside from diggin through the brain, no pellet.
