A happy shooting Thanksgiving

We were off to grandma's house for Thanksgiving, so that meant no shooting over a long weekend... but it didn't turn out so badly.

Black Friday sale at Big 5 (west coast sporting goods chain). Bought Mossberg 12 ga. tactical open bore shotgun and 2 boxes of 00 buck. This is the home defense cannon I have been wanting, as my sporting arms are all inferior for the purpose. Unfortunately I can't get until the socialist background check and waiting period in CA are met. Hope no burglars arrive in the interim or I will have to make do with items about the house.

Also picked up a $25 Shooting Vise and some ANSI glasses.

Saturday: Father in law gives me old Higgins 58 bolt action .410. How cool! Who doesn't like a little .410 action now and then? Bolt is gummed up from years of grease and disuse, so this will be a fun little project.

Saturday PM: Got my MARAUDER back from Tim at Mac1!!! The in-laws are about 20 minutes away from his shop/store so it was ready for pickup. Also picked up his Crown Saver bore cleaning string and some Cometa/JSB heavies.

So, while never pulling a trigger so far, I had some nice gun action all told and cannot complain!

Notin' like a gun-filled holiday weekend!!!! 
Probably sets the tone for next weekend. Looks like plenty of trigger time in your near future.
