I need help on picking a PCP

Please someone help me on picking a new rifle. I have narrowed my search down to a Henry Lever action (reminds me of my youth), an AF Condor .25, or an FX Independence .25. I only have $500 saved right now, but if I play my cards right I will have around $2000 by mid May. The Henry will cost about $350 but .22 LR are hard to find. The Condor is about $675 and then it will need a scuba tank and other items, not to mention asking my brother in law to fill the tank at the fire station where he works. The FX is $1800. I will be using this for protection of my live stock, but the problem is my back porch to the dirt road is only 130 yards.

If anyone owns any of these rifles or can give me a comparison please give me the good, bad, and ugly. I must confess the one I am leaning towards the most is the FX because of the on board pumping system, but the power of the Condor is very intriguing. I live in the country and noise is not a problem for me, as I was originally considering a Dragon Claw .50 cal, and if the neighbors had a problem it would be their problem and not mine.

I do confess the wife will be surprised I have saved this money and did not buy her an anniversary gift instead, but she does not have to know how much it cost.

hmmmm, tough call. keep in mind how impossible it is to get .22lr ammo right now. that stuff is as rare and expensive as freon and gold!!!  I would seriously consider a PCP, for $2,000 you can easily do something like a marauder in .22 with a scope and a pump, for around $650 or $700. If you NEED a tank, that will set you back a bit more. consider some pre-owned gear man, and spend some cash on pellets. then you can be shooting ALL the time. the only reason i shy away form an airforce setup is because my boss use to have one. with all the mods and money he sunk into that thing, in the end, it was still a single shot and even with an 18" barrel and power wheel cranked, he was only making 26fpe in 22cal. my marauder was making over 30fpe with light tuning. I realize that condors can be tuned much higher but, neither one of us fell in love with the airforce triggers. how about a discovery and a pump and a scope, and get your henry rifle too? have your cake and eat it too man. hah, disco's are highly modifiable and designed to operate at 2000psi instead of the mrod and others 3000psi. means you can pump up a disco VERY easily. if your ok with a single shot air rifle, a discovery is going to do what you want after you tune it up. If you want a bolt action 10shot mag, look into a marauder and maybe a pump (if you like excersise) or a tank and fill assembly if your not willing to pump it.

Thank you very much. I was also considering the MROD, but I am disabled and pumping 3000PSI might not be smart. 2000PSI might be doable, if my hip does not totally collapse. .22 LR are almost impossible to find and I have 50 tins of different brands of pellets, so finding the right pellet might not be hard.

What is the accuracy of the discovery or MROD out of box? How is the trigger on both? Is there an upgrade trigger like on the Benjamin Trail? Single shot is no problem, because I sit, drink coffee, and shoot now that I am retired.

Nice list, but I'd switch out the AAS510 with a Hastsan BT65 with thumbhole stock, save the OP some cash so when everything else gets there he can buy the Mrs. something nice as a distraction

Except the Hatsans are heavy pigs compared to the AA. I don't know how anyone shoots any of the hatsans other than on a bench.
