Hello,
First time on this "gate" and new forum member.
I am looking for some information on the above named Chinese springer air rifle. The only marks on it are the name and a sea lion roll marked on the receiver.
I found it at an outdoor flea market over 35 years ago and spent about $25 for it. It has a wood stock and is an under lever of about 35 to 40 pounds in .177 cal. The barrel is steel as is the under lever. Sights are sheet metal and are adjustable for elevation only out to 300 meters(?) At least that is what I interperate from the marks on the elevator. The trigger guard is sheet metal and the trigger is plastic with at least a 10 to 12 lb. let off. The butt plate is plastic and grooved so as to not slip. Total weight is around 8 lbs. or so Not much lighter than my M-1 Garand. There are sling loops on the right side of the stock.
One of my grandsons (age 11) is small for his age, but a fair marksman, and he gets frustrated by the heavy trigger pull and heavy overall weight. Would it be worth my while to take some wood off the stock to lighten it? There is plenty of wood to play with. I seriously doubt that anything can be done for the trigger. The trigger is a real stretch for me to reach from the wrist/pistol grip, so the grandson uses a good artillery hold trigger squeeze by placing his hand alongside the stock and shooting off a rest. There is also no anti-bear trap block, so I load it for him.
I just recently bought an IZH-61 for him to use in the future.
I look forward to learning more about air rifles from this forum as it seems to have a lot of information on it.
Thanks for your help.
Doug

I have heard of the brand but....could be a varient of the B 4-2 as they have a long reach to the trigger. Would have to see the trigger group and rifle to know for sure. Trigger can be made better just need to work it over and adjust/polish parts...

A little surfing found that it is probably a Chinese BAM airgun. I was unable to identify the specific model. If you have the time to surf you may be able to go further with it. It appears they did put out a quality product.
