Weaver Scope Ring Mounted Carry Handle

  Is ther such a thing?  I have seen carry handles that are under the scope, which is not what I am looking for. I have weaver top rings, and would like to have a carry handle span the two rings. It would have to be tall enough to clear the top turret of the scope. Maybe I was using wrong terminology when searching, but everything I seen were scope over handle types.

IMHO carrying an air rifle with a scope rings mounted handle is not a good idea. This would add undue stress to the 11mm dove tail rail, rings/scope, effecting overall accuracy. The 11mm dovetail rail is not designed for a carry system.

But I do have a solution! http://swfa.com/NcStar-Other-Scope-Mount-P49635.aspx .  These mount to your 1 inch scope tube and u could clamp in a 1'' wood dowel ,  or aluminum,  for a carry handle, with notch for turret clearance if needed.

Another solution, use picatinny/weaver scope rings with caps http://swfa.com/Burris-Xtreme-Tactical-Picatinny-Style-Ring-Tops-C652.aspx http://www.weaver-mounts.com/rings_bases/tactical/picatinny_ring_cap/ that have picatinny rails on top of 'em! Mount another set of extra high scope rings on the cap picatinny rails and clamp a 1'' or 30mm dowel into the top scope rings as a carry handle, notched for the elevation turret clearance, if needed.

  Allow me to clarify my two set ups with photos I didn't have before. Both guns have a Leapers 4-16x56 Etched Glass with 30mm tube. I also ordered Leapers weaver top rings for both scopes. 

  On the  Silent Stalker Whisper, I replaced the stock dovetail inter-rail with a BKL dovetail to weaver mount. This mount is quite stout. In fact, it is so tight on the guns dovetail, you have to spread the mount with its own screws to get it on. Although the guns dovetail seems shallow, there is a lot of surface area for clamping.


  For the Woods Walker, the only difference is I used Leapers dovetail to weaver mounts. They fit into the weaver scope ring base, and then is converted to dovetail. It appears there is more meat on the WW's dovetails then on the SSW.


I see your point in regards to strength in the dovetail itself. But with the top of the rings tied together, one would think it would make a more rigid structure. At least now, as you can see, some of your advice had already been implemented, but my bad for not having the photos till now. Your idea of 1" weaver scope rings sounds nice too, will have to check that out.

the detachanle carry handle for ar15 flat top would go right onto the integrabase.....  the only thing you would need to do is cut a loading port in the carry handle..

 Do you sell that long mount or is that something you did for yourself? there have been quite a bit of interest in scope mounts for the Benji and Sheridans lately.  and I have been telling about your options.
