Just received my second Hatsan

Kinda like not having to go to an FFL to pick up something to shoot. I purchased a Hatsan 95 in 25cal about a month or so ago and was impressed enough with it to pull the trigger on one in 22cal. Fedex dropped it off Saturday and I ran 50 pellets down it today. Did the usual clean, go gone and build up only this time I didn't have an aftermarket base and scope so I threw on the 3x9 on it that came with it. Already having one in my spare parts box I knew what to expect. Surprisingly I got it to focus down to 50ft at 4X and started breaking it in. Never messed with the trigger, about 4lbs but crisp and no surprises. Ran some HNN FTT and RWS Hobby's through it and the last 2 groups were right at .75" with the Hobby's. Lot of rifle for 150.00, next thing will be to replace the mount and scope. The parts issue is one of those things that I will wait until the one year warranty period is up to address, right not I'm gonna just pull the trigger.

Simply pulling the trigger sometimes can be the best policy, instead of worrying about all the details and advice of others etc etc. Enjoy the thing...

How does it feel compared to the .25 model..?? I mean, recoil, accuracy, range, you know, the usual stuff... If you had to keep one and get rid of the other, which would it be. I like the .25 in the 1250fps (or above) bracket but I've never been tempted in the 1000fps range, which the model 95 is... That and the fact that we don't ever see many .25's in any make in the 1000fps rifles...

Right now I'm strictly just shooting 50ft, they feel identical, even cocking them. The 22 is the more accurate but that has more to do with having a large selection of premium pellets for it. As for recoil, well I come from a PB background so as far as I'm concerned they don't recoil. Shoot a 50 round match with a 30-338MagAI, not counting practice and sightin, that's recoil. The 25 is shooting mainly pointed field pellets and is groupling around 1.5", just got some HNN FTT's so I expect that to shrink. More importantly it's not slinging anything, nice round groups. Both rifles looked great coming out of the box, both triggers are right at 3.5-4lbs and crisp and function well. Wood is clean straight grained walnut, it's a pretty hefty piece. I'm just going to shoot them and if they burp off they go to Rick. Hoping the parts issue irons itself out in a year and if not I'll just order them from someone overseas. Right now I'm going to be pulling the triggers, for 150.00 bux, heck I've got boxes of 100 round Lapua brass that push that number. 

I would keep the 25, it's the only one I have and the size of the 25cal pellet makes me giggle.

I'm with you on the recoil thing. Perhaps a more appropriate term should be used but I can't think of the right word(s) to call it - maybe "bounce" as in the mainspring. I used to be into centrefire stuff but my ears couldn't handle it so after about 20 years of it, I sold up and stuck with airguns, which I've had since the late 60's/early 70's...

I think the most recoil I felt was when I foolishly fired a 12g side by side, both barrels at once. The recoil was a bit more than usual. Ok, it felt a bit more of a thump against me but I cut one of my fingers open on the skinny rear trigger, and that hurt a bit... My friend bet me I couldn't handle the extra recoil, so being the headcase I was back then, I took him on. I won and lost that bet... The recoil on the shoulder wasn't that bad but it jammed my rear finger hard as it pushed backwards and upwards, hence, cutting it open... Apart from that, the most recoil from a centrefire was from something like a 300 H&H as I never really went above 30 cal stuff...

Not sure if you guys remember, but I had a post up about the Centerpoint scope shifting on my 125 Sniper in .22.  It is a scope killer for sure, lol.  I had 4 different scopes on it and they would all shift.

I am not a novice scope mounter either, so I knew what I was doing, but that recoil.....harsh on scopes.

Once you have given it a clean out and a proper lube on the spring, I find the recoil melts away
