How do I convert a QB-78 to run from a paintball tank?

I would like to convert my soon to arrive QB to run from a paintball tank, preferably tethered with an air hose; with the tank separate from the rifle. Is this possible, and what do I need to make it happen?

I think I found what I need from a certain site with the initials AA but ouch! It costs as much as the rifle. That really ticks me off, as there is no way those parts are worth 90 dollars. They are just trying to capitalize on a very convenient accessory.  I wonder if a hardware store trip could get me going....

First things first friend, tune your 78, use the Carts. Then, once you have her maxed out, look at going for more air.

Yes, you will need a bulk fill nipple for the gas tube

and a a tank, and tether....

A tank block from a QB79 or JDS Airman will let you run a 2" paintball tank. You will have to drill a couple of holes for the mounting screws but it is a straightforward update.

I make all my brakes myself. The upper one on QB78D is one piece brass 5" long, 7/8" OD.
The lower one on the AR2078 is just a piece of brass pipe turned to match the OD of the stock AR barrel weight (front sight removed), I stuck a bit of 1/2" OD stainless tube in the end for a finished look. Both are .22 cal ATM, but one is about to be a .25 with a LW barrel/bolt conversion :-)

If you have access to a lathe, bulk fill end-caps are easy to make. Some mods are needed, I'll PM you.

Yes, providing you stick to CO2 pressures.... If you run HPA, the O-ring should be moved in until it's on the full thickness of the tube.... Actually, CO2 should have been done the same way, as the pressure can reach 1900 psi at 120*F.... but it won't be any WORSE drilled and tapped 1/8"-NPT for a male Foster.... IIRC, you have to open up the hole in the knurled nut slightly to clear the Foster fitting....
