Here are two deer that I have visiting my backyard.
I hope they slip up and show during daylight. I'll be using the second bullet from the left in my .458 Quackenbush if they do.
Pictured from left to right is 485grn, 405grn, 365grn, 425grn and 365grn. All are BHD ammo.

Thanks guys!! I spent last year trying to get the smaller one which was a 11 pointer. Now I have the 8 pointer coming around that's looks to be as big as a horse. I came really close last Monday, but it was just too dark and a little shy of 30 minutes before sunrise, which is the legal shooting time. I'll have another shot in a couple of weeks. They just need to cooperate more!!
Dennis Quackenbush made a muzzleloading adapter which made it possible for me to hunt during the 2 week muzzleloading hunt. The bolt handle is removed and a small bolt is installed to lock it down and another one through the scope mount hole. The adapter is placed on the end of the barrel and the bullet is pushed into the barrel with the starter rod and then pushed the rest of the way in with the ram rod. Remove the adapter and it's ready to shoot.
Here's a picture of Seth of bigboreairgunammo.com and his 8 pointer that he took with his Quackenbush and using the kit. You can see pictures of the adapter in this link.

Nice, mature bucks are difficult to hunt. Do most of thier moving around after dark. As you already know. They didn't get to be nice bucks by being stupid.
Good hunting. Keep us informed.
Bogey.
