New trigger on the HW50S

Once I got the Rekord triggers on my R7 and HW30S dialed in they felt just about perfect and the reach was ideal for me.  But the HW50S with its slightly thicker wrist was just a little bit of a stretch although it still felt pretty good.  I'd heard about Tim Einck's triggers on one of the forums and decided to give one of his setback models a try.

It arrived today and armed with a 1/16" punch I had it installed in about 10 minutes--no issues.  It takes up some of the first stage travel so I had to add some back in by bending the tab a bit forward but that was a breeze.  It also comes with a shorter pressure screw.  I initially thought this was a cool option but after installing the trigger and discovering the setback caused it to hit the stock screw I understood why they ship together.

The trigger does exactly what I was hoping.  The reach now feels almost perfect.  I compared the installed trigger to my R7 and HW30S and Tim's doesn't appear to have any additional slop or play.  It feels very smooth while shooting.  Besides the setback one other difference is that Tim's isn't serrated on the front like the stock trigger.  I'm okay with that but some others might not be.  (If you're a Glock owner you've probably read plenty from the *for* and *anti* trigger serration factions )   

I'm a happy camper.

I can't tell any difference.  They both feel smooth and I have it adjusted for a light pull and don't feel creep with either.

It's not a great photo (cellphone, sorry) but it shows my HW50S on top of my HW30S in order to compare the setback of the trigger to a stock trigger.  The pressure adjustment screw is on the HW30S.  As you can see the setback trigger is far enough back that it would be blocked by the stock pressure screw so Tim provides the shorter one.

After shooting it for a few more days I'm even happier with it.  Works great and fits me much better than the stock trigger.

I like how the set back trigger makes the length of pull a bit less.  I thought my old R7 would give me a shorter length of pull being a shorter gun, but it was the same as my other Weihrauch guns.  It seems to be about the same for all of the models.  A trigger like this would make it easier to be on trigger for me.  I might have to look into these.  Thanks for sharing.

I have three of them and they work great for me.  I found them to be the only good way to mount a compact scope and get proper eye relief.  They come with a stop pins as well.  So far on the HW50 it has been very secure.

My trigger arrived Friday afternoon ...I must state ,the quality of Tim's work is outstanding.
Having seem pics of Jerry's trigger left me with a good enough impression that
i had no hesitation in ordering one for myself.
But having the trigger here before me leaves an even greater impression. Truly top quality .

Now ,I'm going to have to wait till  I can install it..  this is a tease .lol.
