Morning Mongoose hunt

That sounds interesting, I know they come in on Mongoose in distress screaming, probably a good bird in distress call would work, that surely would make the hunt less boring

The mongoose are threatning the ground nesting birds by going after the chicks or bird eggs. I have never seen one attacking a full grown bird before.

A bird distress call would be interesting though.

Handcall....yes! 

FoxPro?  Come on now.....even if I could afford to send one of those, take a look at who we are dealing with here.  Nomadic Pirate is the type that gets down to the bare basics and does it the hard way.   He gets downright PRIMAL with his hunting.  Longbows, warpaint.....I can't see him stalking thru the woods like that, then pulling out an e-caller, then fiddling with the remote and all.  I'd bet money he'd go with a handcall over an e-caller any time.  Airguns are probably pushing the limits......if they weren't so limited in range, he'd probably have nothing to do with them.

Now I need to find a "mongoose in distress" soundbite to build a call around.  Is there a more common animal that sounds similar such as weasel, mink, that I might find a sound bite on that would work?

I'm banking on the predator instincts.......make noise that sounds like a very small prey animal in distress, the predator instinct should kick in.  A coaxer/sqweaker should do the trick making a baby bird sound.  My louder, raspy calls would just scare the &^^& out of them, and have them running for their lives.  I can make a decent hog in distress sound with the one I'm playing with right now if that gives you any idea.

Chris, anytime you wanna show up in the island, it would be my plesure to take you out hunting,........not as much game as Oregon, but it's sweet when you finally find them
