What will happen with no tuning?

Greetings
I'm a newbie. bought a npss.22 and after reading and learning a lot from various posts (by the way, thank you norm_m, microsalmo, lil'sis, ezman604, for all your help), I am concerned about keeping my gun like new. why? well, I live in Chile now and if something goes wrong, I will have to get parts from crosman and that will take time, maybe months. also is the money factor. you can get a np rifle for about 300 bucks. I had to pay a bit more than 600 bucks for my rifle, and it was cheap! the prices here go from 600 to 700, and don't even get me started on trying to get a pcp... a marauder here costs 1100 bucks!!
well, now you know why I have so much concern... my question is: What happens if you do not tune your gun?
the nitro piston goes for years and years or it will lose power?
what parts should I order now to have them with me just in case?
who will be the next president?
Thank you once again and god bless!

Welcome to the GTA. Lots of airgunners don't tune their airgun and they shoot great. Just shoot it alot and everything is going to wear in and smooth out.
The first thing that might give you a problem is most likely the piston seal. It might have been nicked or cut during installation at the factory. When that happens you might get detonation and erratic points of impact, because the airgun will not be pushing air at a consistent amount.

Well, that makes a lot of sense... when I started to shoot the rifle I could not group at all... I realize that the scope was a tad loose, so I put some blue loctite and my groups improve a lot. but I will try to get some piston seals and I'm building a spring compressor, so once I get the seals I will open this puppy... thank you!

Once I find a gun that I want to stick with....
I buy a set of parts to have on hand. If replacing stock parts with performance parts, I keep the stock parts unless they are worn out.
This way, you are only down the time it takes you to fix it.
One great thing about spring-powered guns.....you can have spare internals on hand for around 25 bucks.
If you are having no issues, you can shoot it without a tune. The tune will just help with the longevity of the gun, and the firing cycles.
God bless,
Farmer

Farmer, that's the way to go, but for me is very hard to get parts all the way from states. for instance, I've been trying to get 2 or 3 sets of piston seals, but so far no luck. I will call crosman next week to see if they can ship some stuff overseas. we'll see what happens.

I have a benjamin trail np. I have shot about 600 round thru it. I have done nothing and can hit a target that is 1" by 2 in ( 25mmby
50 mm at 30 yards 3 out of 5 times. I am 69 yers old and getting my second new eye (cataract surgery) tomorrow. Tuning in my humble opinion may be over rated. I agree with Farmer. Get some extra parts on hand and you will be good to go. Crosman parts are cheap. I have seen reports on this forum of 10,000 rounds through a gun before he had a problem
