Anyone know how long these hand pumps usually lasts?

JINGYUAN GX pump. I got this one from Mike Melick and it's high quality with better features than a disco pump, but he doesn't know how long they last since he's only had them 2 months. Has anyone here had them for a long time to know how long they last?

That's an almost impossible question to answer. 
How much do you use it? What kind of maintenance have you done on it? How many pumps do you normally give it per fill? It's all related to the kind of use and how well it is maintained. Also, even with exact same items, one will outlast another. Just the way it is. So how LONG the pump lasts is mostly relevant to how it is used and maintained.
Just use it till it quits...then rebuild it.

Well if it's usually only lasting people a few months then I'd like to know, but if there have been enough people using them for a year or two without any issues then I'd like to sell my disco pump.

Too new, no one has put them though enough pump cycles yet.  Heat tends to cook the final stage o-rings (so give them a cool off rest every 50-60 strokes).  Number of pump cycles tends to wear the o-rings...some tubes smoother than others, so some wear faster.

Price looks good, and I'll keep them in mind..but only a bit more time/use will tell.

Were some pumps from China years back (about then the BAM 50 was introduced).  Those tended to &^^& out quickly (mostly due to roughness on the inside).  Hopefully this model is improved.

I cant tell you how long they last, I just got mine from Mike today. I can tell you it is much smoother and easier to pump than the benjamin pump I have. Also comes with a rebuild kit, and the foot pads fold up for storage, and has liquid filled gauge. So far it feels like a good quality pump, but time will only tell. One thing I do not like it has no provision to install a drier as the air intake is through the handle.

I like that it comes with the brass air hose plug too. That way you don't have to put a little zip lock bag over the hose as I have to do with the disco pump to keep it from getting anything in it during storage. I can't say if it's easier to pump than my disco pump yet as I'm waiting for my newly mod'd disco to get shipped to me but I will be able to see how it pumps the disco next week.

This sounds similar to the Hatsan hand pump. It has a cylinder in the handle that stores a desiccant. I replace the desiccant every month or so.

you could always now take the benjamin pump apart, go get you some 800, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500 grit wet sanding paper and clean up the benji pumps internals

I'm not sure you could gain anything (in longevity) by trying to clean up the internals. Unless they're built really bad.   It's kinda the nature of the beast...higher pressure and repetitive motion.  Slow speed and resting it should make the biggest difference.

Not sure either but for $220................why not add another $70 and get the real deal Hill.  Rebuildable; easily serviced; has rebuild kits and parts; and has the best reputation.  Just playing devils advocate here

Let me put it this way.

Have two pumps, both Hill MK II's. I shoot a whole lot, almost entirely PCP/HPA, so the Hills get a lot of use..a whole lot.  Hard to figure pump strokes.  Will estimate that between 10,000 and 12,000 shots a year...some low powered guns getting a shot per pump stroke...some high powered guns needing 4  or 5 pumps per shot. Call it 20,000 pump strokes. Seems like a whole lot, but last count I shoot a bit nearly every day (call it 300 days a year...I go on vacation every so often and are some days i shoot springers or co2 guns) and there are +20 guns that use compessed air in the safes.

OK..know how that sounds...but what good is a hobby if you don't obsess over it?

Tend to stop using a pump at the first sign of trouble (which is why I have two).  Better to stop at the first sign of a problem, when its just a worn or clogged o-ring, than to ignore it and wear metal to metal.  Figure every 2 year to reseal one of the Hills (call it 40,000 pump strokes).

Rebuilding the Hill MK II is a pain in the arse the first time.  Now it takes about 45min.

The new MK. III rebuild kit has fewer o-rings than the MK II...so I'd guess it would be simpler to rebuild...with one or two practices, bet i coud do it in 35min.

Let us know how they work and hold up!  I love the Hill for sure and it is built like a tank!  But if you get something as good fro half the price I would like to know.  I am reminded way too often of the old addage..............."You get what you pay for!"  Hopefully this will not be that instance.
