Disco question

My Disco shoots most accurate when the little gauge is reading 1600psi to about 1100psi.

Is there some type of modification that would help?

There is no problem. As i have heard, Most PCP's do in fact have a sweet spot so to speak. a range of psi in which you get the most consistant speeds on your shots, therefore claiming better accuracy. I don't own a PCP myself, but have done extensive research, and have heard of this more than just a couple times.

Thats what I have been doing and, I am trying to avoid doing. I am wondering if there is some type of modification to the rifle which would allow me to fill up to full pressure and release as if it had 1600psi or less.
Using a 14.3 gr pellet the rifle from 2000 psi down to around 1100 psi sends the pellet at 845 to 850 fps through my chrony.
from approx 1100 down to 1000 psi the pellet speed drops to about 830 fps, at 1000 psi it starts to drop more rapidly.
This tells me the rifle is releasing a reasonably consistent amount of air through the 2000 to 1000 psi range. it is probably releasing approx 1000 psi.
I don't know enough about the gun to know which part in the air chamber it does this, but there maybe an after market part which could be changed that would be adjustable.
You are right about the sweet spot. on mine its from approx 1600psi down to 1100psi ...approx.

I have the TKO power adjuster set about half way and the shots seem consistent from 2k to 1100 or so but until I get a crony I haven't experimented with it.

The "sweet spot" on both of my discos is right around 1800 down to around 1000 psi.   This is normal for PCP's, they will each have their own sweet spot which is easily identifiable when you do your chrony testing. 

As was mentioned, you can install a power adjuster to give you better control over the air or you can look into installing a regulator.

You said from 2k down to 1kpsi the gun shoots from 845-850fps.  Was that a typo?  Because that would amazing consistecy!  Why would you want to change anything?  If the gun is not accurate between 1600 and 2k (as you said), then there has to me larger variations from shot to shot in that range, so most likely that was a typo..

My Disco is amazing between 1800 and 1200.  Outside of that the POI changes due to the guns internal characteristics.  I have learned to fill upto a little over 1800 which will compensate for taking the hose off and leaving 1800 in the tube.  I don't have a chrony but I noticed a slightly larger grouping when it is over 1800 and when under 1200, the shots start hitting progressively lower than the group I'm looking for.

When I am in the 'sweet spot' a dime has no chance out to 25-30 yards with your basic Crosman ultramag heavy.  Now, if it just wasnt a single-shot, it could be in the running for a 'perfect' gun!

If you installed that front barrel band, just make sure it isn't too tight. You don't what the barrel to move as the air chamber flexes. just play around with it, I know it can be done. ( tighten the bottom screw, then the top one...but don't give it an extra turn)

My disco shoots the same POI from 2000 psi all the way to 1000psi.

I finally got a chrony, and i don't know how I survived with out one. My stock disco is putting out 23 fpe with barracudas

No typo this Rifle is consistent! and again no typo, when I say it is not accurate between 2000 psi and 1600 psi, the group is a little wider.

I know Airguns of Arizona sells a nice power adjuster.  Mike at TKO also makes a nice power adjuster although last time I tried to buy one from him he said he only sold them in conjunction with  a rifle purchase.. you'd have to ask him if his policy has changed.  I'm sure they're are other power adjuster vendors, I just can't think of them now.  You can also make your own with some very basic parts that are all available from Home Depot or a good hardware store. 

Zehring.. considering how nicely your rifle is shooting I honestly don't know why you'd want to mess with it, sounds as though it's pretty "sweet" just the way it is.

I agree with (Jonnnyboy). 1800 TO 1200 psi is the sweet spot for me as well. Like Joe, I fill to compensate for the fill hose, and a dime doesn't have a chance!

Now, when I got my gun new it had a bad hammer spring and bolt. I did not get a long shot count or excellent accuracy.

I sent it to Crosman and they installed a new hammer spring and a bolt. That took care of my problems.

I recommend the modified barrel band from TKO Airguns. It helped improve accuracy and at the same time made my barrel more sturdy.

Also, GTA members recommended the TKO muzzle break for me when I asked them what I could do to quiet the gun. It made it possible for me to to shoot in my backyard without the neighbors even knowing.

What about puting a pressure regulator in it...
These units can be adjusted to the out
put pressure you require...

They have lots of diffrent dia units  just
measure the ID of yer tube..there maybe
one to fit....
