BIG shout out to ED AKA Shadow!!!!!!!!!!!! for tuning my Gamo Hunter Extreme!

I got the gun new in the box and after 300 shots it wouldn't cock anymore so I contacted Ed about tuning it for me because I didn't want to do it! I had spoke to Ed a few times about these guns before I even got this one and I knew if anything were to go wrong with it I knew Ed could fix it and I'll say he went above and beyond the call to make this gun right! Shes a hammer and very accurate! shooting 20ftlbs with 14.3gr CPHP's. I took her out in the wood to sight her up and not on paper either just on some small rocks and other junk along the river after I got her sighted in on some rocks about the size of a quarter at 30yds or so and just plinking around for a couple a hundred shots I thought I give some sparrows a spin between 60 and 75yds and I had no problems consistently hitting these birds at these distances! I shot so much today I had to quit because my arm is wore out from cocking this beast! Ed thank you for tuning my gun and fixing the trigger and the safety I screwed up I will say I'm very impressed and the more I shoot her the smoother she gets! hey guys I highly re comend Ed if you want you rifle tuned he does very good work!

Your happy so I'm happy bro. Keep shooting her and she'll settle in with fps rising some and just getting better all around. The custom spring guides that I machine for the extremes makes a difference in the firng cycle along with a custom tophat guide, Happy Hunting.
I'm not feeling great but still trying to get the tunes out and hopefully get in some hunting tonight with the Wife.

So glad your rifles perfect Mark, been on the fence about buying another gamo but your tipping me.. I just know I need to send it straight to Ed, right from the seller. Does the extreme differ in terms of tuning from the typical 1000fps powerplant(.177)? Mark is your extreme a metal or plastic bull? If plastic, is gamo still supplying a metal barrel? Thanks! Jeff

Jeff it's all metal, and yes it differs from a normal Gamo tear down! that's why I sent it to Ed I already knew he had more experience with this rifle than I do and had already worked out a good tune on them from working with his own gun that he told me he worked out this tune method over the corse of a 1/12yr process so why mess with a good thing when had it all figured out! I took it out this morning after adjusting the trigger a little more to my liking and at 30yds I have all the pellets touching about the size of your finger nail for 5 shot groups and as it settles down I expect it to get much better

Thats awesome mark, I found a socom bull extreme at natchezss for 234.00, can't tell if its metal or plastic but i'm gonna figure it out and move on it if metal. Just can't do another plastic to metal lockup on a gamo. Thanks!

The older Extemes have the shroud that screws off but one thing that I like about the new Extremes is the sweet stock. I wish Gamo would sell the stocks since it would lighten up the Extreme a whole bunch. To me the Extreme is made to do distance sniping and to put down bigger critters at closer ranges. I've hauled mine around several years ago on state land hunt's and she gave me a work out for sure. Another part of tuning the Extremes and other magnum springers in my opinion is to lighten up the part's inside. The springs in magnums do make power but so does the heavy piston and tophat. Many magnum springers suffer from a teeth rattling firing cycle and recoil and some poorly made magnums just rattle themselves apart, power aint' everything if you can't control it. Ed
